The Oblates of the Virgin Mary
The Oblates of the Virgin Mary (OMV) are a Catholic congregation of priests and brothers founded in 1826 by Venerable Bruno Lanteri. Our mission is to foster spiritual renewal primarily through the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola. By accompanying you on your journey, we can help you to deepen your relationship with Jesus Christ.

The Oblates have many communities in the United States and abroad, where we staff parishes and centers of formation focused on our charism. Our United States parish locations include Illinois, Massachusetts, California, Florida, and Colorado. We have dedicated retreat houses in Massachusetts, Florida, and internationally in Cebu and Antipolo, Philippines.
Ignatian Discernment as a Shared Mission
The Ignatian Discernment Institute (IDI) is a ministry of the Oblates of the Virgin Mary, rooted in the Oblates' long-standing mission to foster spiritual renewal through Ignatian spirituality and guidance.
The IDI advances this mission through retreats, media, books, and teacher formation focused on the Rules for the Discernment of Spirits found within the Spiritual Exercises. The IDI thus supports the Oblates' larger mission of encouraging a rebirth of authentic spirituality through the Exercises, serving with Marian devotion, fidelity, and zeal.
