Finding Freedom from Discouragement

The Ignatian Discernment Institute exists to help souls recognize and respond to God's voice amid the movements of their hearts. Rooted in the teaching of St. Ignatius and developed through the pastoral experience of Fr. Timothy Gallagher, OMV, we offer the Church a clear, practical, and life-giving path of discernment.

Mountain Range

In a time when anxiety and discouragement touch so many hearts, the wisdom of St. Ignatius of Loyola remains deeply relevant. His fourteen rules for the discernment of spirits offer a proven and hope-filled method for navigating the challenges of life. The Ignatian Discernment Institute exists to make this teaching accessible to all people of faith, regardless of vocation or stage of spiritual growth.

Our work remains grounded in fidelity to Ignatius’s original text and shaped by a pastoral method that brings his insights to life. Through clear instruction and real-life examples, the rules become practical and personal. Whether you are encountering them for the first time or seeking to share them with others, the Institute welcomes you into this mission of clarity and encouragement.
